So I'm heading into uptown, a neighborhood in south Minneapolis, to pick up a black kettle for 15 bucks. It comes with a half bag of Kingsford professional bricks, a hinged grate, and the super expensive weber grill cover.

En route, I spot an old redhead in someone's front yard. The owner is hosing off some lawn chairs. On my way back through I stop and ask him if he's interested in selling the grill. He says Hell no! I cook on it all the time. I says are you the original owner? he says no a friend of mine gave it to me when he bought a green egg. I says how about a trade? He says you want to trade me a black grill for a red grill? I says yup. He says where's the grill? I said in the back of that truck over there. He says I don't care and the rest is history.

Letter A with some battle scars. All in all  much happier for my $15 and my first redhead.
