Lets get out there and rescue some grills
« on: August 18, 2017, 02:37:46 PM »
Im calling on all you guys to hit the streets, junk piles/scrap metal drive, CL/Kijiji, or whatever, and rescue as many grills as we can for the rest of the month.

It should be a pretty good time of the year to intercept some grills from the scrap heap with the summer coming to an end for a lot of people, folks are moving or finishing that "last season" with their cadywompas old junker...that the legs been falling off of for 20 years.

Any age, size, color, or condition...even if you have to pay a few bucks to save it!

No grillfella can ever feel complete without a couple rescued junkers on the side of the house.

Save'em all & we'll part'em out later...

Heres two I recued today.

All of us together I think we can get 100 grills... make that 98.

Go get'em and post'em up here.

I can't pass up an old Gennie. This EO 1000 model from 1995 followed me home, and will get the treatment. It will be used on my deck, where I have limited space, but is closer to the kitchen, so a smaller footprint is nice. Frame is generally solid, but will need some TLC. Burners, grates and flavorizers will be upgraded. I have a couple other things in mind.

I was able to rescue a fairly new Performer today.  Like new but very dirty and greasy inside.  Gourmet grate system in excellent condition after clean up.  It is my first Taco.  Oh, it was $30.

I missed out on a couple of freebies but picked this up for $20.  Needs an intense cleaning but still works great.

I picked up a really nice DE code performer for 40$, cooked on hard by a previous KCBS competitor.

Nice grill fella!

No pics as it is in hiding from the OL.

Will clean up a post some pics.

Also passed on a free red gaser on Friday hopefully someone here got it?

I'll keep an eye out. I did rescue a OTP a month or so ago. It was literally within minutes of being picked up by the metal recycling truck. It's on the side of the house now..
