Lower grate question..
« on: August 17, 2017, 10:04:49 AM »
The lower grate on my 18" is slightly bowl shaped. It's enough of a bowl shape that it sometimes makes the chimney starter a little top heavy / unstable or if you want to do water trays you have to watch water levels, etc.

I was thinking of trying to make it flat again. What is the best/safest way do to that?

Flip it over on the ground and pound with a rubber mallet

Turn it over on a hard surface and step on it.

Just like Kneab wrote, flip it up on the ground and simply step on it. I'm doing that always.
