Fleetwood completes my collection... for 23 minutes

Most of you guys know that my collection focuses on the smaller 18-inchers; more specifically of the MBH variety.  This size is perfectly adequate for majority of my cooks, and if I need more space for sides etc, I just double down with another 18".  Sometimes I'll pull out a SSP or 22" midget, but like I said, the 18" is perfect for just my wife and I.

With that said, I couldn't think of any good reason to bring this faded Fleetwood home into the collection, except that I had to have it.  Is that a good enough reason?  Probably not, but hey, we support each other here, right?  Besides, I constantly read how awesome the real estate is and how the 26'ers often become the go-to daily driver of choice.

So I bought it.  I won't say how much, but I immediately felt a sense of calm.  I finally had a vintage 26'er and it's in great shape.
Both grates? Check.
All vents? Check.
Tread intact? Check.
I felt... dare I say it, complete?  ...Yeah!  I think so!  Fleetwood, you complete me!  I'm done, no need to look for any more grills.

That feeling of calm and completeness lasted for all of about 23 minutes.  That's because this little guy popped up on OfferUp in @Chiku18's area!  A black 18" MBH to match the Fleetwood!  Even though Chiku was traveling for work, he still was able to pull string to secure this little guy.  You're probably tired of hearing this by now, but BIG THANK YOU!

I'll pick this up next month when I go down to see Arcade Fire and Wolf Parade in concert.  Just bought tickets, and not sure if I'm more excited to hang out with Chiku and pick up this grill, or to see two of my favorite bands together at once.  Tough call.

What I DO know now, what I've come to accept, is that it's impossible to be Kettle-Komplete.  There will always be something out there that I would love to bring home.  What will be next?...

@Mr.CPHo I was watching that auction, and I'm glad someone here won it, and I saw how much it went for...CONGRATS :)  My only question is how did you get it, as they said they didn't ship?  Once again, great score, and you'll love the 26er!  But be warned, it may bring a desire for more 26ers!

Thanks, crowderjd.  Re: shipping, be weary, not everything you read on the internet is true.  Sometimes you just gotta ask.

Theres no telling what'll be next but we do know there WILL be another one....soon...then another....and another after that....

I see lots of open space in your yard, plenty of room for more grills.

The hunt never stops for weberholics.
You can't always get what you want....but if you try sometimes you get what you need

Great post Charlie. I'm looking forward to seeing your awesome cooks on that Fleetwood.

@Mr.CPHo Charlie, you'll LOVE the Fleetwood....you're gonna really enjoy smoking on that beauty. Another 18 in the stable is a good thing, right??? I have a small affection for those as well. ;)
