@troy. yea he defiantly did a great job. my only thing about a summit tho is it doesn't seem like it would ever be that go to cooker and for me, for $2000 is wanna use your like every day lol. but could you constitute firing it up for burgers?

Seeing the leg sockets, I now realize that it's just a 26" normal bowl with an inner bowl added. Is that right?

It certainly looks a lot like a 26r bowl but in fact it's a whole different animal. Different OT cut-outs (P shape), ATC port, and the double walled construction is a single piece, not a liner bolted into a 26 bowl. Similar but different :)

My Summit is my new go to ... I use it for everything.  Here's just a few of things I've cooked.  I've even fired it up for a few lowly hot dogs.

I think the leg socket allow Weber to use the
existing attachment technique for the 26 ash bucket assembly.
Keeps the unique parts count down.

Made me do a local dealer search for who has them... It's a start  ;)

It could easily use it as my daily cooker.  My problem with it is me.  I have several other kettles I like to use also.

Is there any SC part numbers available anywhere? I'd be particularly interested in the top vent and the ATC adapter and plug...

I pretty much have sold off my whole collection to purchase one. With a 1 yr old and almost 3 year old, my priorities have changed to cooking since I have no time for anything else.  I just wish our ACE hardware was selling them at the discount the other stores were.

That's what's I did and I have no regrets. The summit does everything my other kettles did but clears up a ton of patio space.

I wish Weber would make a dual wall original kettle as light weight as possible. Just the kettle, because you already got an igniter in your Performer. Or someone would make a stainless snap in liner to convert a standard kettle to dual wall. The Summit  looks too big and heavy for me and it is too expensive.

You don't need a Slow and Sear for a Charcoal Summit.  That's the point of the design.

Love his review.   But it is nothing more than a glorified 26
Especially with the leg sockets that serve no use.
If it was designed from scratch why would it have them??
I can't stop lovin my Weber!!!
