imo the only thing the the JJ has going for it is the locking lid bale. An 18" midget OT will outperform an JJ in every way except for maybe low heat indirect cooks and keeping the ash and embers contained. You can add the lid bale to an OT and have the best of both worlds.

I vote midget. Never had a jj but I like the one touch system in a normal 18. I just have to get serious and add the bale and ash bucket

The only thing the JJ has going for it is the envy of all its peers.

I assume by JJ everybody is talking about the current shallow JJ.
Personally, I prefer the OTP to the JJ for traveling, and don't see a whole lot of benefit to midget 18, other that that they look cool.

My wife and I just had a raised garden built... 2 feet high, to save our backs. I cannot see the purpose of a midget, other than they look cool. That wood hurt my arse for sure trying to cook on it. Give me a full size.
Multiple kettles and WSM's. I am not a collector, just a gatherer... and a sick bastard.

My vote would have to be the jumbo joe with portable table, no stooping involved. Now if a third party would make some legs for the outrider to fit on the portable table that would get my vote also.
