Awesome! Youv'e earned your patch!  8)

Maybe we need to replace the the honor system with a patch system. I think that would be cooler than Olympian and such. I would like to get Troy's opinion.

How do you date these?
Great score and nicely played
I'd say that model is from 81-84
Lid vents, base and timber handles all match the standard model in the 81 catalog
They were then discontinued in 84 to make way for the genesis
There should be a letter stamped into the venturi bar
I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

Idahawk, you are on FIRE!  Nice work on this one.  I've been anxiously waiting to see what the outcome would be.

Does it work?  What happened?  How did it go down?  Are there pictures?  COME ON!  I'm not talking about those tiny serial numbers either....
Vintage Weber Grill raconteur and bon vivant.....and definitely Sir Agent X

G=Gas I think
That number in not sure of , I'll cross reference it with the other numbers I have
Above the part with the number is the Venturi pipe which is the cylinder
At the base of that pipe is a letter stamped into the pipe probably an 'A'

Heyjude

There has been no definitive way to date anything pre 1979. I wouold guess its early to nid 70's.
Nice grab, er steal, err score, great deal! Hope it works and enjoy.
