Thanks for the alert!  The store in Clinton Township had a pallet of marked at $9.95 but is scanned $5.98. Got 10 bags. Hope it's good stuff!

Judging by the comments here I'm sure it is.

Thanks again!

As in Clinton township, michigan?
I am not a collector, but I do have a small collection.

BTW, if your store has a large inventory and you want to risk it, hold off as I've seen pricing of $2 per box or even less.

Mkrause, have you tried it?  If so, how do you like it.  I'm pretty new, just two seasons, to charcoal and have stayed with kingsford for consistency.

@jmccormick1220

Welcome to the site, just would be great to meet you sometime, we have a really good crew here in SE Michigan.  I am going to formalize a Mitten meetup here soon, it would be great to see you there.

I'm not a veteran charcoal guy either, but the weber seems to me like it doesn't smoke as much, burns longer, doesn't produce as much ash, and really at $5.98 for a 20# bag vs. $9.98 for the double packs of the 16.7# kbb when you catch it on sale, the weber is a better deal.

This was a 2x1 snake. Made the snake about 3/4 of the way around my 22 inch SSP. Ran for 14 hrs. Easily could have gone a few more. Held 260-275
Weber charcoal is great stuff.

Approximately how much does a box of that charbroil lump weigh. Lowest price near me is $8.79. I wouldn't mind trying some, but my brain is having a hard time comprehending the relative value of $8.79 per 2039.04 cubic inches of charcoal.

BTW...

Has anyone compared Weber briquettes to Stubbs briquettes?  I tried looking to see if there was some type of comparison that popped up in a google search.

I know Weber briquettes are larger...but do they provide the same heat as Stubbs? Similar aroma and flavor to food?
