River country thermometer
« on: October 09, 2018, 08:53:25 AM »
I’m really liking my river country thermometer. I avoided calibrating it because I figured I would have to remove it from the lid. It has run 20 degrees too cool since new. I did the boiling water test before installing but I must have thrown it off during installation. I like the way it mounts because you can calibrate in the fly with a set of needle nose. Now it’s set to grate temp but in the Weber Smokey mountain there is almost no difference in dome temp and grate temp when cooking low to medium heat.  I’ve checked this multiple times with accurate thermos.  Anyways so far so good. I was previously just adding 20 degrees to what it read but decided to stop being lazy and finally calibrate.
