Picking up a S/S performer from this guy today , looking forward to talking to him and to find out about his parents grill and this book he wrote !

Dave, give me $80 and I'll sell her.

I am a huge Weber fan.  My parents had one of the first in the city of Spokane in about 1962.  Purchased it from Metallic Arts.  I grew up on a Weber.  Back in about 1995 I sent Weber a promotional video of myself and my Weber and they came back and shot a commercial.  When I was about 22 (now 56) I wrote a small book to give to friends called "Webering my way".  I still have a 6 burner Summit and a regular ole Weber.  Anyway, enough about me.  From one Weber fan to another, take this beauty off my hands.

Thanks

Mark

And tell him about this site!  Sounds like he'll fit right in.

(Don't tell him about this site before you have the deal done and the Performer all packed up and ready to go, though.  Maybe just holler it out the window as you gun it down the street:

WEBER KETTLE CLUB, FTW!!)

I was thinking the same thing, but only after I get his parents old grill, lol

...and a copy of the book, and any accessories he has laying around, and any catalogs or cookbooks, and any charcoal or chimneys, smoke wood, and etc..  ;-)  I've gotten a couple of Webers at estate sales, and once I slap a 'sold' sticker on the grill, I go straight to the kitchen, garage, shed, basement, and bookshelf to see about any ancillary goodies.

He took the grill to his office for our meet . His parents " candy apple red" weber is long gone , as are any copies of his book , but he did inform me that his friend has a possible 60s model at his lake cabin and I got his number.

As far the performer it's a date code "0" with a perfect frame and just a few spots on the bowl and lid , it's missing a wing nut for the lid holder and the sweeper is shot, but he did have a brand new one and it appears that he sold it because he couldn't get the old one off to fix it .

Bully for you!  Removing a sweeper assembly takes a hacksaw and about 30 seconds.  And you can upgrade the lid bale hardware at the hardware store (it shouldn't have a wing nut, and you can easily switch to stainless hardware).

Nice job, hawk!  Sounds like a great day.
