A Very BRAVE 2600 miles
« on: July 17, 2017, 04:42:19 PM »
Some of you may know of Tami and my crazy vacation. Chicago meet up Niagara Falls, Gloucester Ma  to see Joey @captjoe06 and then Quantico to see my daughter. I had spotted a Brave about 100 miles from my daughter and reached out to the seller through FB marketplace. The women selling was the original owners daughter.  I asked if she would hold it until Chelsea could pick up. She spoke with her father and he said yes no problem make sure he knows it is a 18 not a 22 or 26 (must know his Webers). We make arrangements to pick up and off we go. 110 miles one way for my girl. I was told that the owner was a man of integrity and my word was a bond and they removed the listing holy shit how often does that happen? Chelsea arrives to pick up and they invite her in there home and start talking about the grill, bought new in 74 75 he couldn't remember. The owner finds out my daughter is in the Marines and didn't want her money. She had told him all about the club and all my grills and they chatted for about an hour. Chelsea said to the owner " my father is also a man of integrity and would put me over his knee at age 22 if I didn't pay you" haha what a story. Here are the picks of the exchange. My tripmeter on the car said 2612.

Final tripmeter when we pulled in the driveway

This trip was all because of this awesome club !!!!!!!!

I'm glad you did a little "road trip" write-up. When I was talking with you & Tami at the meet-up, I couldn't help but think of what a cool quest.  Y'all said your daughter was gonna go places. I thought you meant in life, not for a kettle.

Why no pics of your kettle packed automobile?

Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn’t?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I’ve amassed a nice collection, but I’m missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞

It was packed alright but only 2 kettles. I mostly packed it full of gasoline about 9 times. I almost had a buy/trade deal in Ma. but Tami put her foot down, right on my head!!
