I have a red MBH Pat Pend with plastic wheels.
I have a red MBH with a patent # and metal wheels.
Reading the "determine the age" page I think the Pat Pend could have plastic wheels, but could the one with a # have metal wheels? So is the Pat Pend likely a '70? Whatever the year, does anyone know what the Weber logo was for that year? It's for a project I'm doing. Thanks!

My read of the history page is that the patent pending grills are 69-72. The plastic wheels with rubber treads would indicate 71-72.

As for your patent numbered grill, I'd be curious to see the pictures. My guess would be it has the wrong wheels on it.

That's kind of what I was thinking Neil, but it reads like the plastic wheels started in '70. Here's a pic of the metal wheels from the patent # red.
Does anyone know which logo was in use in 70-72?

What do you mean by which logo? On the lid vent?

The Weber company logo. It looks like it was either this

or this

Looks like the kettle silhouette came up in '77? So it may be the WS oval...
