Before I drill anything I'm going to clean the rust from the sockets and then bring it to my welder. He's got about 60 years experience. I'm going to see what he thinks.

Your welder must be @HiDesertHal?

I have one of these. My neighbor was moving and put it on the curb for trash. Even though I don't even come close to having the skills to restore the grill I couldn't let it be thrown into the trash. It is black and has red wheels. It looks very similar to the one pictured in this post. One of the legs is seriously rusted at the point where it meets the body and the rubber has dry rotted off one of the wheels, but that' s the only major damage. If anyone lives in the Tampa Bay area and is interested in it please let me know. I think that it is too costly to pack and ship, so you would need to pick it up.

Kneab, I apologize for hijacking your post. I just thought that anyone reading it might be interested in having one themselves.

Well I said goodbye to my first Wood Dale yesterday. Grandma is now going to reside in Zavod44's yard beside grandpa in Wood Dale row. A much more fitting home for her.
In exchange for her I received some of Brian's beautiful handles, a corn and tater ring in beautiful shape and a patent pending Brave. Thanks  Brian 👍 I cannot wait to start the restore of it.

I knew I would find the right man for the job on fixing that rare grill, maybe we need a little input from @craig on the age of that 18.  It's a Pat Pending 18 brownie with legit steel wheels.  It's a transitional piece for sure and pretty rare.  I think maybe @Harris might have the only other one .... Anyhow I'm glad it ended up in your hands I know you will make it stand and cook again.....
