Ooh! That cleaned up nicely! It's got that sweet bluish grey porcelain that was common among the 1966-70 era kettles. That's one badass looking Statesman. Nice work!

Kettles with the blue interior colors are my favorites.  That is a nice one.

I noticed it looks like when they installed the grate holders in this kettle they are at a bit of an angle anyone else ever noticed this on any Weber kettles I'll try and get a pic that shows it hopefully you can see it

That cleaned up nicely. Just beautiful. And love that blue hue in the bowl.
Did it have the ashpan or you borrowing from another?
I've never paid much attention to the grate straps being crooked, but I have noticed a bowl handle or two that are. I just figured it was a graveyard shift kettle. Maybe yours was too.
