Salt Block Burgers
« on: April 20, 2017, 06:59:20 PM »
This is something I probably never would've bought but the Easter Bunny left it in my basket the other day.  Spent a couple hours on YouTube today so I had some what of a clue.

Pre heating the block starting at 200° and stepping up to 400° so moisture wouldn't crack the block.

Put the block on the 500° grill for twenty minutes then the burgers.  Didn't season the burgers just mixed them with Worcestershire Sauce.

Flipped them after five minutes and then on to the grill for some searing.

Fancy plate with boiled red potatoes and grilled onions.

The block did impart a pretty good salt taste but it wasn't overbearing. Next week I'll try some Rib Eyes.  Clean up seems pretty simple.  Razor scraper and a damp spunge.  Thanks for looking.

Thanks for sharing.   I've been on the fence about buying one of those salt blocks because I'm concerned they wouldn't last very long.  Keep us updated.

I always go back and forth too
Did you have to go to the grate because the salt block didn't give you a seat?

The lovely wife gave me one for my birthday last month. I haven't used it yet, and am looking forward to your additional thoughts.

Salt Block didn't give me the sear I wanted.  It's just like cooking on a flat top

I'm still gonna try a Rib Eye to see how that works out but honestly I don't see it getting a lot of action.
