On Tuesday my dad called me kind of late (10pm) and asked if I was interested in a green Weber. I said maybe if it was in good shape and the price was right.
It turns out a 90 year old guy he plays cards with twice a week has a green Weber he purchased back in the 70's and it didnt get much use after a couple of years as he switched to gas.
Today I went over to my father's to clean his apartment like I do every month. (He is 80 and disabled.) When i get there he asked if I wanted to go see this grill. So off we went. The owner took me out to the garage where it has always been stored. He said he bought it in the mid 70's and in the first week it had a small chip of the porcelain come off. Other than some light rim rash I can't find anything wrong with it. 10 minutes and $20 later I was putting it in the trunk of my car. Judging from the top vent it is a 74-75. I will be cleaning it up this weekend and cooking a leg of lamb on it for Easter. More pics to follow.
