Twin GA's... kind of
« on: April 10, 2017, 02:50:38 PM »
Haven't been a real big fan of the Smokey Joes but I love my charcoal Go Anywhere with Craycorts. Unfortunately, sometimes charcoal doesn't suit the situation, and although I love my Q, it's just not quite as portable as the GA. Problem solved.

Wait, is that a thermo mod?!!! I never thought of a therm on a GA!

Yes, I've had the charcoal for a while, which for the record is my preferred. But I did the thermo mod and decided the gas should have one too.

I had a gas a while back but wasn't thrilled with the heat diffusor.  But with the Craycort, I don't need it anymore. So I'm thinking it'll be better.

I'm not a fan of gas grills like at all but my buddy gave me a go anywhere gas and it's kinda awesome for the small situational cooks like quick hot dogs. for what it is its a great thing

Nice pair of cookers @mcgolden! Said it before, the Weber Gas Go Anywhere (prior to the redesign) is extremely underrated. Add a Rcplanebuyer flavorizer and it's that much better. For traveling or quick at home cooks, it's one of my favorites.

Nice pair of GA's, @mcgolden.  I've been eyeing both the craycorts and the stainless steel flavorizer plate from RCplanebuyer but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Are both of your grates from Craycort?  They look different.

Yes, they're both from Craycort. They make a different one for the gas than they do for the charcoal. The big metal center on the gas is to protect and disperse the heat from the centered burner tube so you no longer need the metal heat deflector / flavorizor plate.

I've actually got a second set of the gas version Craycorts with a grate lifter that I was as thinking of trading if anyone had something interesting.
