Wonder if anybody had any tricks in getting the vents to have a tighter fit. Two of the three vents on my RK had been bent a little probably from forcing them open/shut when they were gunked up. During my first cook, I did have a little trouble controlling temp, and I think that the two vents were the culprit. Closed the top and three bottom after the cook and the kettle was still pretty warm after 2 hrs or so. When I do this on my smaller kettles, it cools off much quicker.

You could try to reform or purchase new here.

Thanks - I will try to reform them this weekend, but I ordered three of them last night for backup - 7 bucks a piece is  ok given the price I paid for the RK.

I think you bought three kits so nine dampers.

Oops - oh well. Never hurts to have some extra. The ranch kettle schematic only showed one I think - but that is the same part number and it is three on the 22 in kettle. I am sure I will find some use for them in the future.
