DATE: Saturday, June 24

LOCATION: San Pablo Dam Reservoir (7301 San Pablo Dam Road, El Sobrante)  Picnic site #5
*There are two entrances to this reservoir.  Do not enter the one with the sign for boat launching.  That is at the wrong end of the lake and does not access the picnic area.  The park charges $7 for entry per car.

Bring your rare or favorite kettle, food to cook and beverages to drink.  Beer and wine are allowed to be brought in.  Everyone is welcome as we should have plenty of space.  The picnic site reserved  has 4 very large picnic tables covered with a gazebo. There are additional picnic tables close that we can use if needed.  Details will be added as the date gets closer.  If your planning on attending, please let me know on this thread.  I am trying to get an idea of how many to expect.

Here is a menu sign up for the day so everyone will have an idea of what is being cooked/brought. Figure cooking/bringing to share. Copy and paste the sign up list, adding your WKC name and what your bringing.

It is 500 miles from my house to exit 154 (Yoncalla. Oregon).  Eugene is about 45 miles further. I've made that drive many times as my Brother-in-law has a ranch in Yoncalla.

@Cellar2ful;   That's about 11-12 hrs, one way, to get BBQ food (noting that I can get BBQ food right here on my deck :) ).  We'll have to leverage something more, better, prettier (as they said in Pirates of the Caribbean).   Hummmm, maybe a Dark Blue, or Yellow, or Dark Green 22" MBH kettle  ;)   8)

Still a maybe  ...

This will be my first WKC meet also. I would think you bring to share. I will defer to @pbe gummi bear and @argentflame for input. A menu sign up list probably will be good. That way we won't end up with everyone cooking the same thing. I'll start with a side dish Mrs. Cellar2ful will be making, as I have not decided what to cook yet. Just copy, paste and add what you will be cooking/bringing with your WKC name. My original post has also been updated with the menu sign up list.

This sounds about right. Most people will cook on site but that's not a requirement. I suggest not cooking anything that takes >4 hours. If you do, plan to show up early.

Having hosted a Meetup in the past, (and likely this year again sometime) and attended several others,  I suggest planning for leftovers - have containers or zip-lock bags handy, and plenty of ice in the coolers. Pace yourself with the food, and cook in waves, not all at once. It's no fun to feel stuffed when the next great recipe comes off the grill. Cover all the food groups if you can: Beef, Pork, Fish, Foul, Lamb. Get some dutch ovens going for beans, soups, stews or deserts. Go easy on breads and chips to leave more room for meat. Sample everything you can, and take lots of pics. Wish I could join you!
