I'm guessing the "3" is a QC/inspection marking.  Thinking the serial number will contain an approximate production number(?).

These look really nice and I understand the enthusiasm but as I follow the story the past few months, it is clear Weber has created a huge build up in anticipation and demand for this red grill. Now that these grills are being sold everywhere I am thinking that if I wait maybe I can get a Lowes floor model at a discount sometime early next year when they clear out space for lawnmowers. The factories in China must be working overtime getting these out. I bought a red limited edition Q3200 from ACE a few years ago, they sold so many of them for so long time that it was no big deal to have one. Weber sells different color kettles all over the world but limits the selection in the USA.

That looks great!  I'm excited to get mine. Some new goodies are on the way, too. Coal baskets, chimney, drip pans, burger press, and a Grillaholics utensil set that is red, black and SS.

@Shoestringshop Does the temp gauge mount the same way as the normal ones?  Are there any extra holes?
