I called Weber and had them look my zip code up. No Alliance dealers near me. The garden center in town sells Weber so I asked the manager to call them and ask about ordering this grill for me. Left my contact info, probably a no go for me.

Weber was very little help for me as well.  Woman I spoke with said she could not find any Alliance dealers near me.  I asked her if there were any near San Francisco and she was having a very tough time.  Figure I will just wait and see what happens.

There just may be an Alliance Dealer near you and Weber just can't find it.  Weber's dealer locator on their website is horrible and it appears that the CS agents use the same locator that we do. I was looking for an Alliance Dealer near me on Long Island and it was showing the closest ones were in NJ and PA. How can that be for an island of 7 million people?

So, I called Weber, and after much fussing about, the agent located a dealer about 10 miles to the west of me. The dealer's name never came up when I did a dealer search.  Then, that evening I decided to look up this company that I always see on Craigslist selling new Webers. Recently, he posted a pic of his showroom and there was a wall of Weber accessories in the background. He must be a dealer, right?  His place is located about 7 miles from me.  When I put my zip code into the dealer locator his place wasn't listed, not even as a Dealer.  However, when I entered his zip code in as my location his place shows up, and low and behold, he's an Alliance Dealer and located just about 7 miles from me.  I would have never found him if not for that Craigslist ad.  Terrible job by Weber with their website.

I talked to Weber Canada and they have no info on this grill... yet.

I wonder if this will be a US exclusive?

They are still trying to clear out the exclusive ones they got in that were not supposed to last the year. With all the calls they got they thought they'd be long gone.
"Why do you have so many bbq's?"....."I just like lookin' at em' sometimes....and I have enough purses and shoes"

Send them across the border and get them sold. Real easy.

Darko

My understanding is that 500 of each colour were made for Canada, except 1 colour which 1000 were made.

My opinion is that the issue is that where stuff like the coloured Mastertouch's, the Summit Charcoals... This stuff is sold in specialty BBQ stores.  Alas, In this day and age the vast majority of people get their BBQ's at big chain stores. And a lot of them buy cheap shit made offshore.

Alas, this is where Weber as a company faces an issue.  Their products are too good. They make a good product & offer a 10 yr warranty, but then a bunch of so called Weber aficionados buy a used grill that still has life in it for 50 bucks or less and bitch about how much a new grill costs, or the colour available.

It it what it is.

It's just that weber is going about the release of this red grill all wrong. First it seems that all Alliance Dealers will be handling this grill, wth!!! I dont know about you but ive never heard of this place before, now I've got to find the closest one and bug them. So I call weber up for the closest "AD" and they tell me I can get this special grill from my neighborhood Ace. Whew much better!!!
Now if weber is trying to gauge public interest on this grill why not have something on their website where you leave your name and zipcode. Or just say this is a limited production of 1000 or 2000 and they can be ordered from the traditional big box stores.
As far as the Canadian Mastertouch's being handled through specialty shops, the production run should have been halve of what they did. What is the population of Canada anyway. You know what they say, hindsight is 20/20. As far as these reds go I would guess a production run of 1000 for America would be enough. Always keep them coming back for more I say.

If these are going to be for sale at Ace that would help a ton as I'm having a hell of time finding an alliance dealer near me.

@Josh G- I received a call back today from the manager of Dale Hardware in Fremont. It is a Ace Hardware affiliate and has the largest Weber display I have seen other than California Backyard in Sacramento.  Dale Hardware along with all Ace Hardware affiliated stores will be carrying the limited edition red "Topper" kettle. Price will be $199 with no prepayment required.  Weber has not released much information on it other than it is coming some time in the fall. He expects Ace, along with Weber to have some kind of marketing campaign preceding it's official release.

Since this is considered the Topper grill does anyone have any images of Topper?

I was thinking about making a stencil for my next stainless tumbler

That's great.  Fremont is a bit of drive for me so maybe an ACE closer to me will have them.  Thank you for the information!  Sounds like I have to get down to Fremont and check out Dale Hardware though.  @Cellar2ful
