Can anyone tell me what the lower ash pan came off of?  I know the upper one is off of the patent pending brownie I bought recently but it came with the lower one and I dont know what its for.  If you cant tell from the pictures its got the rolled edge.  I am going to sell it once I know what its off of.  Any help would be appreciated.

probably 80s not sure but I know my 77 had a strait lip

The straight edge changed to the rolled edge in the middle of 1979. Some A codes are straight and some are rolled. I don't know what year the twist rolled changed to the rolled edge with clips.

So its probably safe to assume this is an early 80's pan.

The full rolled edge disc w/ clips started in late 1986. 1987 was the first full year for them.

I have an H code blackie with the full rolled edge and clips.  Got it new in 86 or 87.  They say memory is the second thing to go.........

I have an "A" code 18 with the twist rolled pan. So 79 for mine.

Seems like a good point of reference to add to the age guide.  Thanks @Craig.

My grills confirm this as well.  E-Code (1983) with rolled edge twist on pan and H-Code (1986) with a full rolled edge disc w/ clips.
Wanted: Burgundy 18"
