Anything coming from Brentwood or Tracy usually has Black Widow hitchhikers. Great save on the Cado.   Couple of U bolts on the handles will hold it down.

@cellar2ful yea we get all the fun bugs, black widows, Wolf spiders the size of soda can tops, roaches every house iv lived in has had them outside hate the damn things . I wanna have it be as close to the original set up just with a twist. Resto-mod hotrod style. shit it is a rest mod lol.

little progress iv made today

got the leg sockets and brackets off of the donor kettle. I'm probably going to clean up the old bottom end after I'm done with it, build it a wood frame and give it to my grandma as a thank you / replacement flower pot

got one of the brackets on, had to put my youngest to sleep so I didn't get a chance to drill the other side. I made it about an inch under the handle. I thought the black bracket would stand out more against the green but since the frame is black it blends in nice.

i managed to unknowingly drill the holes like perfect with the top grates resting spots lol. chalk that up to dumb luck

lol lots of pressure. I didn't have a center punch or anything at the house. no wonder these things last forever that finish is tough!! the Cado bowl was way harder to drill through then the 2006 bowl was

Don't center punch a drilled hole in the kettle. It could deform the steel or blow out more porcelain. A small, sharp bit works best for a pilot.
