I just picked up a bag this weekend and took them on a test run. Nothing fancy, just a quick cook of some chicken and sausages. I lit 3/4 of a chimney to start. I noticed they didn't seem to smoke as much as my usual KBB. I waited until I had no smoke and just some flames coming out the top of the chimney to dump them in. Grill quickly got up to the 325 temperature I wanted and I was able to easily control the temps for this short 45 minute cook. I preferred the smell of these to KBB and when I was done it seemed like a bulk of the 3/4 chimney was still available for another cook. Only big difference I noticed was that it took my Weber 22 kettle 3 hours to get back below 100 degrees after I had closed the vents to stop the cook. My experience with KBB is that they go out much quicker and my grill cools off quicker. Didn't want to have a hot grill and melt my cover.
