found a Red fade MT
« on: February 21, 2017, 01:18:44 PM »
It's got enough battle scars and warts to make it a nice daily driver.

I picked it up a couple of weeks ago. Bronchitis has had me dragging my butt for a while but today I was able to throw on some ash sweeps and get some pics. That's all it really needs, besides a cleaning. Everything else is solid enough. Some thin gauge wire keeps the ring on tight.

It's gonna replace this OTS:

I like it. The therm trim looks like it could be snapped down a bit more.

Nice pick up.  Not many reds let alone red MTs turn up around here.

@MINIgrillin - good eye. I spent so much time cutting off the pot handle nub I forgot all about it. (Had to use a freaking handheld jig saw blade. Took most of a freaking hour.)

I actually like those two big beauty marks, usually they're just roundish, kinda cool

Nice score! Battle scares add more character. It actually looks nice and clean and cool looking.

Those aren't battle scars at all.... That is "Character"!!!

Nice RED HEAD!!!

J
Lets just say I have acquired a few Kettles.  Big and small.   Vintage and New...  Some say I have a problem.  I find the Kettle, buy the Kettle, USE the Kettle...No problem...
