Palatine vs. Arlington Heights
« on: September 05, 2018, 01:01:44 PM »
Can anyone shed light as to the differences between the two, and the years in which each were stamped on the top vent? Got an 1986 “H” code redhead one touch, noticed the top vent was a Palatine.

Thanks in advance for the knowledge

Weber has changed production locations in the Chicagoland area several times as they have grown.

First they produced in the city of Chicago, then Wood Dale, Illinois, Arlington Heights, Illinois, and now Palatine, Illinois.  They were in Arlington heights from the early 60s to about 1982.  They’ve been in Palatine and Huntley since then.

Ps.  Some models of gas grills are made in China.  Charcoal grills, smokers, and higher end gas grills are made in Illinois with “globally sourced components.”
