Congrats! Nice 2nd Gen. I should have known. You were just talking about getting a Performer before MT few days ago.

Travis

Thanks!  It's in ok condition and will clean up nice. The sweeps work so I don't have to worry about that. Haven't tested the gas yet. I didn't get a steal. I paid 200 but these don't come up often and they usually sell within a week. I didn't haggle. Probably could have saved a few bucks but I'm not going to worry about it.

One just popped up this morning in Fort Wayne for $250 so I'd say you did well. Congrats

Unbelievable. I just checked Craigslist and another gen 2 performer popped up for $50!  It was listed while I was in route to pick this one up. I had been holding out for months to find a cheaper one and the second I buy, one comes up for $50. Still can't believe it. It's in Sheridan, IN on craigslist if anyone wants to get an amazing deal.

That's generally my luck too. I underpaid for some and overpaid for others. In the end as long as your happy, who gives a fuck. They're grills. What's gonna be the break in cook on that bad mama jamma? I've been wanting to use that phrase for a long time. Thankyou. Lol

Yeah capt, I really like the looks of the gen 2. That's another reason that finally pushed me to purchase this one when I saw it.

@travis, not sure what the first cook will be. I'm still debating on whether to do a full on scraping and cleaning or just a quick clean and cook?  It has a flip grate but it's toast. Luckily I have a couple new ones on hand I can rob out of the redhead or ots. Charcoal grate is toast to but usable for the time being. Everything else seems in order. There's the beginnings of grate tab cancer but no rust through (just one of the tabs). I'll probably give those areas the vegetable oil treatment on the inside and out.

I think this is as far as I'm going on the inside of the bowl. I'll be cooking in it soon anyway. You can see the grate tab rust. I'm thinking it just needs cooked in to impede any further rust. Or is there any other remedy?

Go get the other one!

If it's still there tomorrow, I will. I also told a friend about it that doesn't have any weber's. Trying to convert him.

It's crazy because it was just a few minutes from the first one which was 45 minutes away from me.

Here it is socializing.
