Epic weekend of Free CL Webers

So this weekend started off for me Saturday morning, seeing a "Free Weber" CL add. No picture and no description other than, "If no one takes it, it's going to the recycle". I respond, the seller gives me his address and says come pick it up.  What the heck, only a ten minute drive and I can always use kettle parts.  Pull up to the sellers house thinking I'm picking up a kettle,  he walks out and hands me a Weber Go Anywhere Gas Grill. Quick clean up with steel wool and it looks brand new.

Saturday afternoon, I post an add on our local neighborhood social media site, asking if anyone has apple tree trimmings. Figure why keep buying the bags of apple wood for smoking if I can get some free.   Get a response within hours that a local neighbor has just cut down their apple tree and I'm welcome to the wood.

After cutting and splitting some apple wood on Sunday afternoon, I take a break and check my emails.  I find another CL add listing 2 Webers for free.  Holy Crap! Their both MBH's and one is an Avocado. Only posted for 25 minutes, I might have a chance.  Email the seller and he immediately responds, "Come get em".  While picking the kettles up, the seller tells me that  both kettles belonged to his parents. Both recently passed away and he was clearing out the house, getting ready to list it for sale.  The kettles were to be picked up Monday with a bunch of other scrap metal by a metal recycler until a neighbor suggested he list them for free on CL.

This is going to be a hard weekend to top.

Wow! Fantastic haul. At this rate, you are going to run out of room to store anymore kettles.  :)

What an excellent weekend! Congrats on the great scores!  I like the CL ad... "must take both". Well, that's a no-brainer.

What kind of condition is that 'cado in? Looks to be in pretty good shape from the pic you have posted.....
