What's this worth, Updated!
« on: February 11, 2017, 08:36:16 AM »
Obviously needs a new table.  Guy is sending me more photos later of it.  He is asking $65 for it.  I was thinking of offering him $40 if it's ok other than the table.

Hey Brett

I think your $40 offer is a good move. Even if the frame has problems you could add legs and turn into a Master Touch!

Go to ereplacments and see what it cost for a new table. Then take that off the asking price

Weber no longer makes the grey plastic tables.  The replacement is the black metal one.  The table used on those Platinum models is the same size as the new metal Performer table.  Only issue is you will have to drill 2 holes for the bolts.  2 holes line up and 2 will not.  The Performer frame is longer and the pre-drilled holes are stretched out.

For $40, you've got yourself a great project and a wood table on these look really sexy.

My skills with wood are a 1 on a scale from 1-10 and even I think I could manage it.

Hoping this works out for you, more because at selfishly want to see what you end up doing with it!

Sounds like a good deal. You guys will probably settle on $50.00.

That was my thought.  I still think it's worth 50 assuming the kettle is not FUBAR.  If the kettle is bad I may just pass on it since I don't really need it.

I just got home with it, as anticipated I paid $50 for it, other than the table being mostly gone its in pretty good shape otherwise.  The bowl is pretty dirty but will clean up like new, the sweeps look good and work fine.  The only issue that it has is the lid, looks like someone dropped it on the handle and dented it in.  I am going to try to knock it out with a rubber mallet and even if that does not work I can always find another black lid. It did not have any charcoal baskets but the grates are decent.   Its a DU code (2002).  I think it was worth the $50.

Set the lid, handle down, on a 5 gallon bucket. Press firmly on the dent and it will likely pop right out.
Avoid the rubber mallet.
