Should I drill my new 26 for a CyberQ?

So a couple of weeks ago I posted pics of my new 26 and I've since picked up a slow n sear XL for it. I've got a CyberQ and I'm debating whether I should drill the 26 for a permanent adapter or just not use it on the 26. I just feel bad about drilling into a new grill but probably shouldn't. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Travis

On that new 26r you just bought?

My brother drilled the 26 we keep at parent's house. I say go for it unless you have a WSM.
Looking for colored 18's and SJ's.

I don't have a WSM but I've got a 3-wheeler 22 with a Smoke-ez and a Weber charcoal ring, so basically a WSM on legs.

I'm kidding. If you think you will use and enjoy the grill more by modifying then go for it.

I hesitated to drill my wsm for a thermo but I use more often and enjoy it more since I did.

Do you already use and like the cyberq?

If you plan to keep it forever, do it, of you might sell someday, you may need to sell the cyber q with it....
I am not a collector, but I do have a small collection.

I haven't used the cyberq much yet but I do like it.

I do plan to keep the 26, but I've said that before.  But if I do sell it, I've also got a PartyQ that uses the same adapter.  So I could sell that with the grill.

If I was in the market for a used 26, a hole would not devalue or bother me if it was on a modern 26 and could be plugged easily

I've only been looking for kettles for around 4 or 5 months but I have never seen a 26 for sale in my area. If they are fairly rare in your area, I'm guessing buyers would be willing to overlook modifications.

I'll stick my vote on the other side of the fence... no way I could drill into any 26r unless it was already beatup by someone else 8)

If you think it will help you make a better end product, then yes, go for it.

It's your grill. You want to drill it? Go for it!
