Breaking in my new 13 1/4 Lodge with these 1 1/2 bone in rib eyes to sear them with.

Can't believe I waited this long to sear over cast iron. Screw the nice grill marks , the complete crust over the whole steak is where it's at. That skillet already earned its money worth on the first cook.

Very nice. Now that I've got my seasoning back after the marshmallow incident I'm looking forward to trying this.

Alton Brown is hands down my favorite food persona.  If I recall correctly, he also uses a red SSP in some of his episodes.

Unfortunately not. My family was waiting with their plates in hand as soon as I brought them inside. Lol. The steaks were as big as the plate .

No worries....as much as I try to get pics of everything I always forget to take a pic of something every cook.  If I ever hit the lottery I'd have a full time photographer living in my mansion to make sure none of my cooks had missing pictures!!!
