I was looking around a site that @captjoe06 listed in his Wedgewood blue thread and came across this grill:

It's listed as a Weber Kettle Plus, 47cm (18.5").  Looks interesting, anyone know anything about it?
Wanted: Burgundy 18"

Not trying hate, but from the picture, it looks cheesy to me. Thin metal, and the wheels are to big. Can't judge a book by its cover though..

What's up with the triangle being attached to the front of the leg?

I'd be interested in seeing exactly how they optimized the ash collection system, myself. Cant see it all that well in the pics.

I like the longer legs and bigger wheels, however the red accents kinda make it look like a tweekr with an airless got after it.

Maybe next redesign they'll put wheels on the front leg.

The lid looks too short like the current cheap 22" they sell at Wal-Mart

It is a true 18" grill. The wheels raise it like the master touch and it comes with a gbs grate and upgraded ash pan.

I should have included a link to the page I where I saw it... LINK

Here is an excerpt that I ran through google translate:
QuoteThe new Kettle Plus has truly earned its plus.
Not only does it offer extensive optimization, it is also equipped with many practical details.
Extended legs give you the same comfortable grill height as the Master-Touch.
The newly developed Kohlerost has a V-shaped recess for optimal positioning of the ignition cubes and rapid coal ignition.
The 47 cm GBS ™ joint is suitable for many GBS inserts.
Thought-proof lid holder, practical grill holder, optimized ash collection system complete the KettlePlus.
Red color highlights make it distinctive and visually attractive.

Not sure what to think about this.  Not to innovative or creative here.   Red accent just look too tacky.  Looks like a cheap car with brightly painted hub cabs and door handles. They called that a riced out look.  Secondly, the lid holder is clip on just like the slide aside lid bale.

Few new designs I wish Weber should have attempted are 1. color keyed handles that look just like welded handles even if they are bolted.  2. diff. design wheels than current one instead of just using bigger MT wheels. 3. more retro rap around ash disc.

Overall I wished they gave it a more of Retro/Classic look.

Like many things European it is slightly off center......toast done on one side.....a bit odd if you will.

"Why do you have so many bbq's?"....."I just like lookin' at em' sometimes....and I have enough purses and shoes"

Wait, there's a GBS for 18.5's?!?

Yes, you'll find it on the Weber Page.

I just have it in german only:

You can't use the following GBS Parts:

Folgende GBS-Einsätze passen NICHT auf diesen 47 cm Grill: GBS Geflügelhalter (Art. 8838), GBS Waffeleinsatz (Art. 8849), GBS Wokeinsatz (Art. 7422), GBS Dutch Oven (Art. 8842).

And you have to use a new WOK especially for the 18,5" GBS.
Verwenden Sie für den Kettle Plus 47 cm z.B. den neuen Weber Wok: Art.Nr. 8856

Best regards
Sascha

They should have made the lid flat black too....
