Tip Top Temp on a 2016 Performer?
« on: November 19, 2016, 04:07:30 PM »
Last summer I bought a TTT when they were on sale... and it doesn't fit over the vent because of the plastic handle.

Now, I bought it pretty much just because it is a gadget, not because I need it; my kettle holds temp pretty well. But I'm curious to find out: is there a common way to make this fit that I don't see? Because, gadget 'n all 'at.

You can remove the plastic tab for the cook. It's a tight fit, so don't bend the vent. Easier to do while hot.
Still need a 22” yellow

@Mosca - Just a heads up, using the tip top temp holds a lot of smoke between the TTT and the lid vent which results in your vent getting pretty dirty on the outside.  It isn't hard to clean up, but I don't want you to be surprised after your first cook once you take the TTT off.  I have one and I love it.  I don't really need it, but I like the peace of mind it gives me if I need to run an errand while cooking slow-n-low.

Don't like it. Only thing I could tell a difference on was it was in my way.
I should have saved that 30 for another kettle or piece of cast iron.
