Beautiful. Quick question for anyone that knows. This is a flat top I assume. Do the flat tops have more head room than non flat top or modern 26"?

Is this your first 26 and do you plan to cook on it?  It's my favorite size for the majority of my cooks.

Thanks guys. @HoosierKettle this is my second 26. I love the size and use my other pretty often. This one will definitely get used. As soon as I get the ash pan done it will get fired up. I gotta have it all shiny for its first cook

@cumminfourya- Wow. Great restoration.  Gives me incentive to tackle restoring "Misty".

@HoosierKettle - I measured through the lid vents and here's the results:

flattop 26"       - 9 1/2" from cooking grate to lid vent

new style 26"  - 8 1/4" from cooking grate to lid vent

Thanks so much for measuring. Great group of folks on here. That really makes those flat tops special imo. Maybe I'll get lucky and stumble onto one in the future. I've never suffered from lack of head room on mine but a little added height would be nice.

I echo the above statement.  I've got one around that needs a good cleaning too.
