I'm going to wait for spring and then get a set of whitewalls from @UncleAl
She really is beautiful.  I can't believe how pretty she is in person.  Pictures don't capture the metallic like properties of the blue paint.  It's like a cobalt blue.
I too have noticed that some photos don't capture the awesomeness of the blue kettles.

Now I accept that the color of some blues are different from each generation of blue porcelain, but I have also noticed the difference in my own photos.

I recently acquired a blue kettle, and I have been frantically taking pics on sunny days trying to get that perfect angle that truly shows off the color, with no success.

Here is an example of what I get. Yes, they are different kettles, but same generation (I think). No, not mine.

Anyone else have more beautiful kettles in real life than pictures sometimes show? Other colors?

Still need a 22" yellow

The blues definitely came in different shades. The newer ones tend to have a darker hue. The one that I have (18 OTG) is a DH/2004, and is a darker, almost purpley blue. My favorite shade (aside from the Glenn blue), is the blue from the 80's... Looks much closer to the MT you posted, @bear ...

Here's my "G" code OTS

And my "DU" code SSP

The DU is a much darker blue. The 18.5OTG is also a DU and matches the SSP exactly

Here's my 1979 blue

My 1978 blue

1995 MT

1980 Lid-1981 Bowl Blue.

1995 MT and 2004 OTG.

1980 18 with the B/C code 22

No two blues are alike. I maintain that the oldest dark blues (1978-84 or so) have a "Ford Blue" tint to them. My 95 has a lake blue kind of thing going on. My 04 has the periwinkle hue to it.

That '79 MBH is sooooo damned beautiful. I want a blue, ..badly..I have a blue Bud Light SJ, but it's a looker for sure, not a cooker.
Several nice Blues here Fellas!!

Yes, there are different shades of blue. Your camera will capture the deeper color under the shade.

Those blues are beautiful.  I'd like to add one of those to my pile.

I love the blues... blues music, blue kettles. Yum.
Multiple kettles and WSM's. I am not a collector, just a gatherer... and a sick bastard.

The current CnB blue has a pleasant purple hue to it in the right light. This is a pic from in the store.
