Anyone smoked a butt on an 18.5 or jumbo joe ? If so did you just bank the coals or use a basket ?

No, "butt" I would if I had one and it was a challenge. :D

Check out 1cavman's post in pron: http://weberkettleclub.com/forums/food-pr0n/pulled-pork-on-the-kettle/ I'm pretty sure he was using a 22, but similar techniques should work on an 18. You might need to find a smaller butt though.
