Another painted kettle... :o

Was on my way home from the grocery store tonight, and spotted a kettle that someone had put out for bulk trash pickup. I pulled over and thought... MBH... I can't let that go out with the garbage...

Got it home, into the backyard, and the first thing I noticed... steel wheels. Score! Then I noticed a spot on one of the handles. An avocado colored spot... a bit of gentle scraping with a razor blade confirmed it... patent pending 'Cado!! Boo-Yah!

I'll get some better pics posted tomorrow...

There's at least a couple of threads about restoring painted kettles. Oddly enough, my younger brother, @Lowbrass restored a painted-over yellow a couple/few years back.

Looking forward to this one, for sure!

Man! Great find! This just goes to show that there have probably been hundreds of these treasures painted over and taken out to the trash. It also tells me that there are those out there that are embarrassed to have a yellow or an avocado green grill. Too bad for them but grate for us. Nice save!
