First attempt at Beer Can burgers.
« on: August 14, 2016, 03:11:58 PM »
Been wanting to try this.
Used 80/20 ground chuck and some cheap bacon I had (Mistake #1).
Stuffed with onion, bell pepper and shrooms sauted in olive oil and butter, with "House" seasoning, and topped with shredded Colby Jack.
Did these in the Genisis, hadn't used it in a while. All in all, turned out pretty damned good. No plated pics, but..I,  and my guests were happy with the outcome, other than next time..BUY GOOD BACON.

I've been wanting to try these for some time now. What was the mistake #1? The cheap bacon?

People describe bacon as "cheap", when they mean "thinly sliced." They don't really mean "crappy bacon."

Nice burgers, anyway. Good job.

The bacon was too fatty, and the strips fell part, had to piece it together. I usually buy the good stuff, but I had this for some reason, think someone picked it up on sale .
other than that, they were great.
