My first Wood Dale MLH!
« on: August 11, 2016, 11:40:30 AM »
I decided to check out a local estate sale while on my lunch break today. I spotted this beauty in the back yard! The sticker price was $18.00 but after some hard fought negotiating I was able to talk them down to $15.00! Woo-Hoo. Here are a couple photos before I put her in the car. This baby should clean up nice! The old style ash pan is missing two of the aluminum J hooks; does anybody have a good solution for this?  Notice the front handle seems to be a little off-set? The legs seem to be on correctly?

Nice one, I actually made the clips out of aluminum rod, and I use tiny rivets to hold them on...

Saugust is looking to trade an ash pan. Not sure, but maybe worth a pm and conversation. Great score, man!

My handles are offset on my Wood Dale 26er as well...I wondered about this, but as far as I can tell, that's just the way it is.

Great find.

If it's the U style ash pan that you have, @Idahawk just rehabbed one with new hardware here: http://weberkettleclub.com/forums/weber-kettles-accessories/u-style-pan-rehab/

Nice grab!!!  Must have ice running through your veins. I have a hard time talking down reasonable prices at estate sales. Went to one where I saw the man's widow in tears saying "I need to leave". Overpaid for my leaf blower that day.

Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn’t?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I’ve amassed a nice collection, but I’m missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞

Nice Score! Something about the metal lid handle and metal wheels and thumb screws.  It looks so cool.

@brewtownbeatdown  Actually I was joking about the hard fought negotiating.  It was a $3.00 discount that the estate sale manager offered me when they noticed I was interested. I think they were just happy to sell it at all. I'm not sure what I would have done if there was "a man's window in tears". Now I feel guilty.

Just messing with you a little.  No need to feel guilty.
