My all-time favorite kettle makeover
« on: August 06, 2016, 08:59:25 AM »
She looks mighty fine as is.

But, She needed that extra to make her more special.

First the bowl handle.

Next, the lid handle with taco shell removed to give that Euro/GregS look.

Whitewall trims.

CI Grate.

Few more pics.

I want to thank Zavod44 and Uncle Al for their exceptional products.

Is that the Napoleon ci grate mentioned on the site earlier?  How are they?

Yes, it is the Napoleon one I just got yesterday. Have not used it yet but the thing is heavy and looks real pretty in person.  I am used to CI stuff, so I am sure I will enjoy using it.

That looks real nice, dude!!

I think you need a "green line-up" pic … Especially after your latest acquisition.

Damn, my Ivory M/T is my only kettle without wood handles … I need to correct that.  ??? :o ;D ;)

Oh yeah, keep us updated on the Napoleon CI grate.  Their factory is just up the road from me.  I should stop in to their showroom.
Q: How do you know something is bull$h!t?
A: When you are not allowed to question it.

Thanks!  Yes, I will add green line-up pics onto this Topic next week.  I need to practice taking pics more anyways.

@ relayer61 - Thanks!

I played around with diff. setting on my camera and croping features.   I even learned how I can turn my green into Ivory using filter. Just for fun  ;D ;D

@greenweb- Looks so much better with the "Uncel Al" white walls. Those Zav wood handle with the custom tool cut outs are a great idea and follow the lines of the stock handles.  Nice!

Thank You!  the Bowl handle was a special request from me to Zav.  As you know, both handles and whitewall trims were top notch quality. I am extremely happy with both.

I agree. The white walls are much better and the wood handles without the "taco" really set the tone for beautiful green color. What is the actual color called? Very nice, man!

Thanks!  It is called Spring Green. Slightly diff. tone than Grass Green on some Performers.
I got one more lid  handle for my Green top performer aswell. I got it unfinished and have applied some stain and varnish to give diff. tone. I probably not gana take  the taco shell off  to differentiate from this one.  But, sure looks lot better without the shell.

I'm going to be in Vancouver, BC in September and would love to bring back a Spring Green.  Just need to think of a way to hide it from the wife for a while.  Or perhaps convince her that I won it in a raffle....

Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn’t?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I’ve amassed a nice collection, but I’m missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞
