Thanks Golly.

Looking at that last link posted by Hogsy, I recognized the tank. And it's probably the only one in the world that's missing the tabs on the lid.

Yo Duke, that's my 'new' one! But I didn't get the kitchen sink    :D

Dude, relax your chicken.

OK guys, any leads or ideas on replacing the indirect baffle?

I patched mine and it actually worked, but since it was just plated metal, I'm not sure how long it would really last, or what kind of toxic fumes I'm creating   :P

Plan B is to use fire bricks on the rock grate.

Thanks,      -Rick

Welcome Dazzo, I didn't see you in the new members area and missed you. I still have the lava rocks.

Please be careful.....if the metal shows areas of yellowish, or goldish dribble, maybe flaking....it may be galvanized & can make people very sick from food cooked on it.....

Re-check this, as it's important.... :)

Yeah 1buckie, I fired it up for about 15 minutes in indirect mode and I was happy that it worked - but I just don't trust the metal (just a plated sheet from OSH). No bad signs of anything, but still...   :P

That's why I'm looking for leads on a replacement baffle.

In the mean time, fire bricks using direct mode showed temp rise pretty good after a short time - it might work for pizza. I'll play with that some more after I'm done cleaning it up.

Thanks for the welcome Duke! I still need to swing by for the rocks.
