Just showed up a few minutes ago. Bought it from Craycort using the 15% father's day discount. This sucker is thick. Got a very busy weekend but hope to try it out.

Fits beautifully into the Craycort ring.

Wow. That thing is stout. What is your first cook going to be?

Greg from ballistic bbq (YouTube) finally got that marketed. He's been incahoots or however you spell that with craycorts for a while. The one he has is actually nickel plated so it is not near as hot as the steel version. I've always wanted one. Please tell us what you think of as you do some cooks. I would be really interested in it and congrats!

If anyone else is interested check out the link. Dude is legit.

That's pretty sweet.  Where's the other half?

What keeps grease from dripping onto the coals below?

It's only supposed to cover half. Some grease may drip down but it does when you cook on regular grates too, so no biggie.

That should be fun to cook on that .25" surface. Should hold temp very nicely.

Can't wait to see some cooks on that.

Looks really nice. Shame about the loss of the backstop for non-Craycort users.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

What prevents the use of backstop for non-craycort grates?  Is it the grate handle?  Or the tabs under the surface?

If the grate handle, could you simply cut one handle off of a beater grate and use it with the backstop on a Weber grate?
