I don't know....I just know they made them in lime green back then, so that's what I was going for. I have no idea what color it was to begin with

Do you have any pictures?

I'm not trying to be a dick, but; How can you not have any idea what colour it is/was?

KettleCookin

I have pics on my old phone. Its very rusty and faded. If I had to guess I'd guess gray.

Did they even make gray back then?

Probably a faded black.

KettleCookin

Maybe. The only color left is rust and gray,

That looks great! Keep it as is, get some handles from Brian for the lid.

KettleCookin

That was my plan. One of the wheels busted since that pic was taken. So I'm thinking about getting new wheels, and shining up the legs. What do you think?

That cooker is cool with a whack of character. It's a faded black. I'd clean up the legs and triangle a bit but leave some fade to match the weathered cooker. If there is a good seal between lid and bowl that baby is a low and slow machine.
"Why do you have so many bbq's?"....."I just like lookin' at em' sometimes....and I have enough purses and shoes"

Darko

What do you mean "busted"? Got a pic?

KettleCookin

The outside part of the wheel has disconnected and from the center...its in two pieces now.

I got nothing. Perhaps others have a way to fix it.

That's a great grill with a lot of character.  I like the idea of leaving it as is.

The wheel seems like something that you should be able to glue back together.  If you decide to put something newer on there let me know.  I could use a wheel of that vintage for a restore I'm working on. I'll see what I have that is newer and we could trade if you'd like.
