It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

I have a pair. They aren't very comfortable but it hurts to be pretty. LOL

Never owned Van's. Thought it was supposed to be a decent shoe. My boy has a pair of their's.

they're very flat, no arch support whatsoever.
And they're low, so high arches and tall feet won't fit comfortably.

despite originally being a skate shoe, they don't hold up well to skateboarding. They seem to hold up fine for normal wear.
My daughters have a few pairs

I might still snag a set. Can't be any worse than my Chuck Taylors. I have more arch support and padding just walking on concrete barefoot, with those.

Vans have always served me well.  Cooking for vegetarians required a lot of foil for some reason.  No one wanted their food to touch.

Vans work well even when not grilling.

They are comparable to Chucks, prob a little more comfortable than that.  I can't wear Chuck Taylors, they just kill my feet. I love Vans and I have been wearing them for 30 years.  They do make Hi-top vans, which I like, if you need ankle support.  Also sometimes you can find ultracush Vans. The Ultracush Vans have a lot of padding so they are very comfortable.  I walk a couple miles from the train to work and back every day so if I were to wear Vans all the time my feet would hurt.  But for a few days in a row here and there, and normal wear on the weekends they are totally fine.  I don't need orthopedic nurse shoes every minute, I'm not that bad!  you could always toss in a pair of Dr. Scholls gel inserts if you were really worried about it....

Right now at least 10.  Over 31 years of skateboarding probably 50 something at least.  Now days one of my best friends is their east coast sales guy.  I don't skate much at all but still end up getting shoes.

Love the burger ones...., I don't think any Vans collection is complete without a pair of slip-on's like Spicoli wore in Fast times....I think I have maybe 18 pair....I have a bit of a shoe fetish...I had to clean out the closet the other day and I think I dragged out about 50 pair of all kinds  :o, Vans, Dr Martens, Nike, Old School Adidas I have a pair like the ones Freddy Mercury wore in concert from Montreal, I love those. I hadn't realized I had so many...

I love my Vans.  I even got married in a pair of all black slip-on's.
