@ABCbarbecue, do you have a picture of the new 26" SnS sitting in a 26.75" Weber grill?

Here you go.  Sorry I'm on the road for business or I'd grab a couple of shots of one shiny and new for you.

This is the original Weber kettle. The most powerful bbq grill in the world and can blow your taste-buds clean off! So, you have to ask yourself one question: "Do you feel hungry? Well, do you punk?"

Love it!  Will it fit in vintage 26ers as well?  (1962)

          Mine works just fine with the 65.  Frankly, I wouldn't want it any bigger.

@Troy do you know?

He did use it in a vintage 26: http://weberkettleclub.com/blog/2016/02/14/slown-sear-vs-26-weber-kettle/

I think that was the old style SnS and the question was if the new 26" specific one would work on the old style 26ers?

Impressive looking product and I really appreciate the made in USA build quality and the innovation of the bottom plate (gotta love when a company with a good product is still trying to make it better).  Probably falls below a rotisserie on my want list just because I can do some of what I'd use it for (like indirect then searing) with stuff I have and I do smoking on my WSM, but it is certainly on the list.

Yes, yes I was mistaken about that.

Now, on to the next question for @ABCbarbecue ... given that the 26 SnS has a way to contain charcoal on the bottom, what about one with an integrated ring such that a charcoal grate wouldn't be needed? Let's say the ring was adjustable/configurable to fit any 26, so that certain persons with flat top 26ers could ditch their drooping, non-replaceable charcoal grate? Maybe we'll go a step further and wish for a ring with a few cross bars so that drip pans can be retained?
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

We've actually thought about the integrated charcoal grate, just really don't think it'd have that big of an audience.  The next items on our plate are a drip pan and a base plate for the standard SnS.

Only had time to take it out for pictures tonight. Tomorrow night I'll do some cooking with it.

Nice comparison to the SnS standard.
