I found a local MBH that was just begging me to come to the rescue. The best I can tell it's a 1973, it has a patent number on the vent and also has full plastic wheels.
I gave her a rough clean up, straightened out the lid, fixed all three of my three wheels, straightened out the Ashe pan, and dropped in a new cooking grate.
I bought the steal wool to knock down the outside to make it shiny again but I just can't bring myself to do it. It just looks like it has lived a good life.
The grill was a one owner and hasn't been used in several years. The gentlemen got into an accident and he lost the use of both arms and legs. He has since turned vegan and just decided to sell the grill. I asked him what his favorite meal to have when he was still cooking and he said steak and corn. So that will be my family's first meal.
I can see why rescuing these old grills gets  to be such an addiction. You get to meet great people and see the life of the grill continue. I see no reason why this grill will not make it to be passed on to one of my boys (already been claimed).
Here's some pics

Nice find!  Looks to be in much better condition than the brownie down here.  It's proving to be a big restore.  I'm with you on being bitten by the Weber bug.  It's fun to meet the folks and hear their stories.  Pretty cool that the first meal you family gets will be the one the previous owner favored most.  Heck of a tribute.  The grill looks good!

I think it might be lol. But good on you for taking that Brownie in. No doubt it will be an awesome grill when you finish with it.
