Company was coming so I fired up some chicken and ribs.  The lineup....

ribs on...

temps were in the mid 30s with full sun and no wind so I didnt need the homa made WSM enclosure.  It works amazingly well in cold/windy weather.

I finally got a chance to use the CB roti ring which I received as a late Christmas present.  I paired that with the EZ Que.  More on that later.

ribs mid cook....

chicken near done....

done....

The food was great and the CB roti ring and EZ Que turned out some awesome chicken.  I did have a slight malfunction when the EZ Que rod on the motor side rotated loose because the operator didnt tighten it correctly but it was an easy fix.  Other than that, the duo worked flawlessly.  I would highly recommend both products.

Great Cook G. Is that a plastic 50 gal. drum that your using as a home made WSM enclosure?
If so, how did you go about making it and what are you using as insulation?

THanks gents....
Yes Bob...standard 55 gallon plastic barrel.  The top and bottom are removed then the barrel is cut in half.  One of the halves is cut in half again (quarters) leaving you with 3 pieces.  I used some cheap hinges to re-attach the quarter pieces to the half piece.  The insulation is called reflectix (Menards).  It was cut to fit then glued to the barrel.  It fits the 18" WSM perfectly leaving approximately 1" of clearance along the entire WSM and also stores nicely when not in use.  It makes a huge difference when cooking in cold or windy conditions.

Company must have been very happy!

I'd like to hear more about your prep cart. What is it that looks like a pan under the top? Is it a drawer?
kettles, smokers...

Nice looking food.  Like the cart and the insulator.  A buddy and I have been trying to figure out something like that for our WSM Minis.  They don't work so well during the winter here in CO.

Also, thanks for the photos of the CB roti ring in action.  That is on my list of next BBQ tools.

Great setup all around and perfection on the eats! The EZ-Q setup is especially awesome!

CB makes some quality items and the EZ Que cleaned up like new after a trip through the dishwasher.

HankB-thats Silver A gasser frame that I got for free.  I added a wood top and bottom shelf.  The pan under the table is a SS broasting pan that serves as a drawer (stores the tongs, spatula, other smaller items).  I screwed 2 small steel channel pieces to the frame to use as shelf guides.  Works well for my needs.

Java-A smaller plastic trash can/pail or barrel would work using the same concept....that gives me an idea.
