It seems black and green Performers are pretty popular around here, cause that's what shows up the most on Craigslist around me.  ::)

In my daily hunt for flippers and or upgraders, I found this one that was on my way somewhere that day.

A couple of pics from the CL ad...

After going over every part of this grill, I decided that it was going home with me. It was incredibly dirty, but other than that, it was in very good condition, with almost no rust. The seller and I agreed on a price and it was quickly in the 4Runner!

A few weeks later and it was ready to start cookin. Aside from the lid handle, a @zavod44 birdseye maple, everything is original. Well, I did upgrade some of the hardware to stainless steel too. Here it is all gussied up!

I will be keeping this one and will mostly use it for my Kettle Pizza and Rotisserie. I did a pizza cook last night to break it in.  ;D

Seriously, did you wax it? I've never seen a shine on a green like that, or possibly any kettle. Amazing. I cleaned the crap outta the green SS I recently refurbed and it got nowhere near that glow.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

No wax.

I mostly used Dawn dish detergent, 0000 steel wool, razor blades and a green/yellow kitchen sponge. The aluminum parts were a bit more work.
