So I picked up my second SS performer in one day. I am confident my wife thinks I bought just one.  :D
Now I have 3 Performers:

  • 2000 Black
  • 2000 Plum/Maroon
  • 1995 Blue
I need help with some sort of logic to help my wife understand why I need 3 Performers.

Here's some potential approaches:

  • Weber Performers are like woman's shoes , you can't have too many.
  • Weber Performers are like woman's purses , you need a different colored one for each season.
  • Black Performer : $0.00, Blue Performer: $60.00,  Maroon Performer: $75.00, Average Price: $45.00
  • Retail price for 3 Performers:  over $900.00 ,  Total Paid: $135.00 Savings: $765.00

Oh yea I almost forgot:  here's the pictures:

Before any cleanup:

The handle has been replace with the new plastic one.  :-[

There are not any chips on the lid.  ;D The inside of the bowl had a good 1/8 inch of caked on gunk.  Not sure what these guys cooked in this kettle. It must have had plenty O' fat.

Please help a bother out here.  I need some verbiage to convince the wife that I need 3 Performers when she gets home on Sunday.

Also, what color is this Performer ?

3 performers great work and very jealous
That color is Burgundy
The question is- Is 3 performers enough? .... I think we all know the answer to that ;)
I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

2 Performer scores in 1 day!?  :o  Your a BOSS! Nice score! I've tried the "purse" and the "shoes" arguement to no avail... it doesnt work. Even though my wife has 150 pair. Having said that, just explain how rare they are since they are SS and the Burgundy is no longer made (that's how I explain my accumulation of red's) and that you'll use all of them. Whether you use them as cookers or lookers is entirely up to you, but tell your wife your going to get use out of them. BTW, that burgundy is sweet! I bet it would look really sweet with a wooden handle on it!  8)

haha nice work on 3 performers in a week

i thought i was bad for getting 2 gas kettles in a week

So I stopped by the local resale shop also to look for cast iron and see if they have any grills.

3 burner Red Weber with wood slats for $30.00.  the cooking grates looked good.  Probably need new flavorizer bars.  Nevermind.  ::)

Very impressive Week! Get the 1000 for $30.00, I'm looking for one too. Your on a roll, plus you got them for way less thank asking price, $75.00 for the Burgundy...WOW!
You still have less invested, than the price of a new performer with GA.

Justify, my wife has finally gotten over it after 6 months...
Just have them all in you use on a cook, you couldn't do without three and
obviously more...

BTW, didn't this start with the free one she picked up for you?

Yea,  that's it.  This is all her fault.  She is an enabler.  ::)

Now you have it figured out.  :)

Black plus Blue = Plum, tell her its just grills being grills. She also needs to know that you have a breeding pair so she shouldn't be surprised if 18s and Smokey Joes start popping up, it's just natural

Heyjude

Well, If 3 is too many, sell the black one for a profit, take half and let her buy herself something nice. Use the othe half for the next deal.. Just make sure you keep buying her stuff as your collection slowly grows.. She may not get used to it, but everyone has to have hobbies, yours is Webers.  8)
I don't care if you don't like my Avatar, its there for me..
