The wife was impressed with my haul.  Tonight I restored the side table.  Cleaned it with some apple cider vinegar (becoming a favorite for a lot of things, thanks @1buckie), then sanded with 180 sandpaper.  Made sure it was clean, then used Howard's Restore a Finish (Walnut).  Let it dry, then applied Howard's Seal and Wax.  I'm not really planning on using this as a cutting board, as much as a nice side table for my tools when not in use.

While I was at it, I polished up the handle on that smokey joe using the same stuff, although it may be heading for sale.  I also used the apple cider vinegar and 0000 steel wool to clean up the tool holder and condiment rack.  Super excited to put it all together tomorrow.

By the way the wife is on board :)  She's been proud of my wheeling and dealing to keep the costs under control.  All good!

Nice work restoring that table. It's super nice to have a hobby that pays for itself isn't it?

That table came out looking great! Nice job, love the choice of stain color. That'll look great next to any color kettle.
